Indica vs Sativa Strains of Cannabis

Indica is one of three species of the genus cannabis. This family includes: cannabis (sativa) cannabis (indica) and rudaralis. . However because rudaralis is not nearly as popular to produce as are sativa and indica. This is because the rudaralis cannabis plant does not flower based on season, but rather on plant maturity. In addition, it contains small amounts, often a minuscule amount of THC (i.e. tetrahydrocannabinol), in comparison to indica and sativa strains. Nevertheless, the rudaralis species is often crossed with other species to shorten flowering time.

Cannabis plants of the sativa species tend to be tall and skinny plants with long and thin leaves. Cannabis plants of the indica species of cannabis are shorter, wider plants that most often produce more dense buds than do indicas. But that’s not where the differences end.

There is another difference between Indica and Sativa strains however, a difference with of which patients of medical marijuana should concerned with and made more aware. This important difference I am referring to is between the type of high that each species provides the patient. Strains of indica are said to give individuals what is commonly referred to as a "body high," as oppose to the “mind highs” associated with sativa strains. One might fairly characterize a "body high," brought upon from the use of most any strain of the indica species of the cannabis plant, as a lazy, feel good high. It is good for night time smoking or relaxation.

I haven crossed rudaralis with other sativa strains for the patients i grow for. With the quickness of the flowering time these plants have taken the stress out of their lives not having to worry if they will run out of medicine before the next harvest. Though they aren't very controllable plants they are very useful in sustaining the proper amount for the patients.

As a glaucoma patient, I can vouch for the results of treatment using this beneficial plant.
